Sterile Heat Exchangers

Description

These designs with single tubes and double tube sheets prevent media mixing in case of leakage of the tube/tube sheet weld connection and meet the requirements of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).

A special construction that specifically excludes leakage of the connection between tube and tube sheet is the sterile heat exchanger, which meets FDA requirements. This safety heat exchanger also uses double tube sheets. However, the heating surface tubes are single, as in conventional construction. The sterile heat exchanger can be used for both U-tube designs and straight-tube heat exchangers with fixed tube sheets.

Furthermore, the sterile heat exchanger can be manufactured on the product side from materials with high-quality surfaces (ground, electropolished). This variant is particularly suitable for the pharmaceutical industry.

Quality Features

Absolute tightness is guaranteed even in vacuum operation, as otherwise germs could be introduced with leak air. The surfaces of the product space are electropolished according to requirements with a roughness of Ra < 0.4 µ.

When installed in clean rooms, gas-tight welded insulation is possible. Main application areas are the chemical and pharmaceutical industries with their diverse and demanding products, especially in the manufacture of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals in liquid form, as well as the food industry.
